Three things in every issue

01

A Project

One build you can finish in a weekend. You get an exact materials list, honest difficulty and time, and optional upgrades once you've nailed it.

02

A Story

Where the craft comes from. The people, the history, and the small obsessions that make this week's project worth your time.

03

A Life Lesson

The bigger idea the build leaves you with. A small, durable truth that sticks around after the sawdust's swept up.

The Saturday Stool

⛏ Difficulty 2/5◷ 3–4 hrs$ ~$22

Turn a single pine board into a sturdy three-legged stool with a saw, a drill, and an afternoon. It'll outlast the weekend you made it in.

You'll need

  • One 1×10 pine board, 6 ft
  • Wood glue + four 2½″ screws
  • A handsaw & a drill

Upgrade → chamfer the legs and rub in a coat of beeswax for an heirloom finish.
